Tattoo's

It was in June 2008 in Pocatello Idaho around 10pm. There we were, Terri, Trudy, Kaye and myself Jude driving down the road just a talking and laughing and having so much fun enjoying each other company. I said out of the blue, I wonder where there is a tattoo parlor? We had talked about it in our emails before we got together, and someone said "I didn't think we were really going to do it". And then it happened, on the left side of the road "TATTOO'S", I screamed at Kaye, "there's one, turn, turn, turn". She did, and there we sat in front of the Tattoo shop, some of us happy, some of us in shock that we were really going in. We went in. It was right before 10pm and they closed at 10pm, we didn't care we were getting tattoo's!! We were all excited at different levels. They had books to the left of tattoo's you could look at to pick one out that you liked, we all went right over and started looking at all the tattoo's. It was so much fun. Terry picked hers out first, I thought it was so cool, she picked out an "R" for her husband Randy's name and had it put on her big toe. What imagination that was, I just think that is so neat of her to do that. And then it was Trudy's turn, she got a musical note (I can't think of the name of it) on her toe as well. I thought how wonderful that is, she plays the piano and organ, has always done that for as long as I've known her, cool Trudy, just too cool! And then it was my turn, I have always wanted a yellow rose, so that is what I got on my ankle, not too big, but I love it. Yellow roses are my favorite rose. Now I have on myself! And then there was one of us left, Kaye. She just didn't find anything she liked at least well enough to put on her body for the rest of her life. I commend her for that, having style and grace not to get one, when we all did. Hat's off to you Kaye. We thought we were the brave ones, and all along it was you that was brave. If you would of found something that just jumped out at you I'm sure you would of got one, if you don't find anything your like then you don't get a tattoo, and that's what you did. Here we though we where the unique one's getting tattoo's, but it was you that was unique for not getting one. Way to go, we love you for that. It just wasn't your time, but you know what, we all had a blast anyway didn't we. And you know what else, we all were a delight! lololol. That will always be a memory of the past, us all being a delight, that is too funny. The tattoo parlor stayed open for us till midnight, when they closed at 10pm when we pulled up outside there doors. What a wonderful tattoo artist we had, he was so young and so talented. His girlfriend or wife called to see where he was, and all she heard was 4 women talking and a laughing in the background, I'm sure that went over well. I asked if she would like to talk to me so I would verify he was still at work, he said "on no, on no that's ok". Hahahahaha. To be young again, when you think everything matters. So there we were four 50 year olds, just a talking and telling stories, not having a care in the world, what a wonderful memory. Our tattoo's in Pocatello, Idaho, and Kaye being the braves of all by, not going with the crowd, and standing on her own. What a strong women. And then we got back in the car and just drove down the road, just a laughing and a talking right where we left off.

Oh, what a wonderful story, Jude, about a wonderful moment in time. That was a night to remember, for sure. I laughed so hard, my stomach hurt the next day.

I'm not sure how brave I was, but you're right--when I find the right tattoo, I'll know it and I'll do it! In the meantime, I laugh every time I think about that night. AND every time I drive past that tattoo parlor. (It's still standing, despite our visit! hahahaha)
